I drew and drew, filling several pages to discover what would work for this exciting new brand.

The client wanted to combine his passion for sales with his passion for tea.

Breaking into the beverage business is the dream. And I have supported it by putting my best into a brand development collaboration that is short of epic.

Exotic Tea Leaves uses all natural fresh ingredients to micro brew flavored teas and sold at various pop-up events and within a few stores. They taste fantastic!

The original bottle covers were simple, with child like doodles of space men and space ships, with common unvetted typography.

I came up with this alien leaf head and developed the idea of tea leaves from another world! How EXOTIC is that?!

We named these critters Oojuana, after the client’s mother Juanita, who is no longer with us. If you look closely at the wordmark it’s as if a bunch of these little leaf creatures jump together to form it and then can scamper out of it.

And these little oojuana leaves are delivered to our planet by these unknown extra-terrestrials via their UFOs.

The Oojuana leaves can be dressed up for any occasion or promotion.

We are still undecided on bottle styles and label info, but a few have been made.

Stickers have proven to be a little more versatile for usage.

I had a lot of fun making up these creatures. the dragon and strawberry paleta monster.

When the client first started with me they had originally called the product “Exotic Leaves and Beans”. He was planning to include coffee but has since pivoted.

Debating it being to scary. So I designed a second set of characters.
